*Over 1.4 million reads - published on Amazon* My name is Abigail Beckett, and this is 2415, the human race is no longer the only intellectual species on this planet. After the third and the fourth world war in the early 2000s, the Earth was almost wiped clean. This cause drastic change in the environment and mass extinction resulting in the most diverse and bizarre adaptation radiation and the bloom of new species in the history of the planet. The radiation released during the massive nuclear bomb war also triggered the mutation of the human genome. Many died, even more were severely handicapped but there were some who survived came out with powers beyond imagination. And I am one of them. Amazing cover by @MulanJiang! I am awaken with the bad atmosphere lurking to me. Then I feel something not quite right-- or something strange. I try to look at the window but for me, I am not yet ready to see what's outside. I see thousands of flesh meats, blood scattered everywhere the ground. And I see a person eating another person, grabbing his inner veins and eating his meat. Cannibalism.

"The most frightening story I have ever read", "Terrifying", "I never want to sleep alone again", "The first time I have read a story which has made my heart race", "Brilliantly written", "Honestly the most gripping story I've read in a long time, from the very first line to the very last. I think everyone that read this can say this is in their list of worst fears.", "This was utterly brilliant. Terrifying and compelling all the way through.", "You made me want to burn my bed and run". - Reddit Users An account of the most horrifying experience I have ever had. I was a child at the time, but only now do I feel safe enough to even speak of what occurred, during the night, at bedtime. In the darkness something lurked. God help me if it was all real.

Sam is the most promising swordsman among this year’s crop of Paladin trainees...and knows it. Brash, cocky, and unbeatable with a sword (well, almost), Sam is the kingdom of Thule’s best hope against the violence wrought by demons. The only problem is that Sam is really Lady Samantha, daughter of the seventeenth Duke of Haywood, and if her father has his way, she’ll be marrying a Paladin, not becoming one. But Sam has never held much interest in playing damsel-in-distress, and so she rescues herself from a lifetime of boredom and matrimonial drudgery. Pity that Tristan Lyons, the Paladin assigned to train her, is none other than the hero of her childhood. He hasn’t recognized her as Lady Samantha--yet-- but if he does, he’ll take away her sword and send her packing. Sam is not the only trainee hiding secrets: Braeden is a half-demon with a dark past that might be unforgivable. Sam, Braeden and Tristan set out for the western coast, charged with rooting out an infestation of demons that has made the West unlivable. As they travel, they uncover a deep-seated corruption of power that threatens to derail everything they stand for. Rebellion stirs, led by a rival faction of warriors who tempt Sam to join them with an irresistible offer. A war between men is coming, and Sam must pick a side. Will saving the kingdom cost her life -- or just her heart? Reminiscent of Mulan, but with a medieval fantasy twist, Paladin is a tale of adventure, action, and romance.

I froze; the guard yelled, telling me to get a move on. The unearthly screeching sent all of us into shock, soon turning into fear. Some cried the moment they reached the door. I didn't know what was coming, but it'd be painful. “Next!” I was two kids away from the cold metal plated door. I closed my eyes, hearing a scream from behind the door. The girl in front of me started to cry. “Shut up!” A guard yelled, slapping her cheek. My eyes widened and I forced myself to swallow tears that threatened to fall. “Next!” My sore bare feet scraped across the dark tiled floor as I made my way forward while the next child went in. I wouldn't survive a slap to the cheek, no matter how strong I looked. “Next!” The girl in front of me quivered and shook, her fear obvious. I cringed away from the door as a laugh echoed in the next room. “Stand up straight!” The guard yelled at me. I didn't dare look him in the eyes, knowing I'd be hit like the last child that stared at him. “Next!” My skin crawled as the door opened...
