This story was part of the Meddison Fic Exchange Challenge on Ao3. Few of us Meddison writers got together and exchanged prompts. This was my prompt... Discovering that your ex-boyfriend's ex-wife is your soulmate, in a world where having a soulmate is so rare.

Meredith was terrified. She knew today would be a bad day. But she came to work. Her hand on a bomb feeling lonelier than ever, merely a day after pouring her heart. Addison was terrified. Terrified of losing what she had not even allowed to begin. A Meddison fic.

Once you meet your soulmate you can feel each other's physical pain above a certain threshold. Which means that while Meredith is oblivious, Addison is well aware who her soulmate is. But Meredith was happy. Who was she to take that away? (Somewhat based off of GA 12x9, with light mentions of 2x17, 3x4&16, 6x23-24, 8x24, and 9x24.) Also during the plane crash they did all get hurt and Arizona did end up without her leg however no one died. Mark, Lexie, and Derek, are all alive. Addison has made her life in LA, where she just adopted her son. Everything seems to be going well until she gets a message from Callie. There was a plane crash and in that plane weren't only two of her best friends but the person she had secretly been in love with for quite a long time. Will she get her back and will she get the chance to tell her? (Loosely based off of GA 8x24)

Addison thought she'd never find them, her soulmate. But then right after one of biggest surgical successes of her career she finds that mark, etched into the person she least expected.
