Remnants of the US government(including the last president of the United States) and the military are hiding out in a high tech military facility disguised as an Oil Rig outside of the reach of radiation. They were plannong to reclaim the former United States when the radiation levels drop to a survivable level. However, a mysterious storm hits the oil rig, bringing it and the region surrounding it to an unknown world.

Since the early 2240's the Enclave has experienced defeat after defeat, from the Oil rig to Adams AFB. Only time will tell if the Enclave can rise up from the ashes like a phoenix, and prosper or finally die.
