"Sometimes, we are so smitten with happy endings, that we believe we'll end up with one too." Ambrosia Bellemore never believed in happy endings, even though the books she read said otherwise. The closest she ever came to magic was when she found the most beautiful pair of ruby red heels on Amazon. "Lives aren't stories. Stories end, happy or otherwise. But lives don't. We die, and there's nothing happy or otherwise in dying." Calum Achorn never believed in magic. The closest he ever came to magic was when he met an infuriatingly wonderful woman on a flight to New York, wearing the most beautiful pair of ruby red heels he'd ever seen.

diana ambrose had always been neglected of her talents and achievements while her twin brother, reign ambrose, had been shown off to practically everyone. never had the ambrose parents paid attention to their daughter, always putting their sons needs before hers seemed as a norm to them. as reign was considered the popular jock that was adored by everyone and diana was just some girl in every performing arts class, in comes reign's best friend, thomas. thomas was considered a trouble maker, never really taking notice of diana unless it was to bully and tease her that was until one night everything began slowly changing starting with diana being stranded at school and having no choice but to call the one person she'd never think of... "why are there so many cars here.." thomas mumbled to himself, his brows furrowed together in confusion. diana meekly shrugged, "probably some play or something.." she muttered in response as she glanced around at the school parking lot, a small smile tugging at her lips as she knew these people came to see her then slowly her smile fell knowing that her parents hadn't even taken the time to listen to her about her big night and instead went to her brothers football game. lowercase intended. Not my best work, pretty young when I wrote it :)

"Get the fuck out of my house!" my dad shouted. "Gladly. But, before I go, I have just one thing to say; you've never been a good father. You've always treated Poppy and her mother like absolute shit." "You know nothing about being a father, you little prick!" "Yeah? Well, your innocent little girl calls me daddy when I fuck her from behind, so that's close enough for me," Knox spat before hauling me out of my seat and leaving. *** Ever since Poppy Nicole was little, she's been a shy girl with a heart of pure gold. "Never call a girl a bitch," I glared into his eyes as he opened them, piercing into me, the bright blue drink I had just poured over him still dripping from his dark hair. Well, this year will be fun... • • • • Crystal Summers; a self-proclaimed expert in all things sarcastic and the human embodiment of destructive decisions. But she just so happens to also collide with the school's sexy, notorious jackass, Ashton Monroe.. and his pack of asswipes. She loathes him, and the feeling is mutual. But America is nothing like England, and its inhabitants even more so. Trusting her brother to help her adapt, Aurora accepts his offer to stay with him and some of his teammates. Seven of them to be exact. She quickly comes to realize that her comfort-zone doesn't exist here, and everything is big, scary, and intimidating. Just like her brother's best friend. Maddox is Aurora's polar opposite, which explains the magnetic pull that he seems to feel for her. He knows that he's bad for her, that the bad in his life will only taint her purity, like a drop of ink in water. Maddox doesn't know what to think about the new girl, but he does know that he thinks about her way too much. He knows that he can't sit by while she struggles, and life in Greenville is sink or swim. Aurora's been thrown into the deep-end without a life preserver and the only thing keeping her from drowning is a tattooed hand reaching out to help her.

#18 in TeenFic [prev titled "The Way We Almost Were" ••• ❝Don't,❞ he pleaded softly, offering her a tiny smile, ❝please don't make me a promise you will never be able to keep.❞ He released a quiet but deep breath, leaning forward even more, tilting his body towards her, until their noses were merely inches apart. ❝You are so, so beautiful, Bree,❞ he told her in a hushed voice, as if afraid someone was going to hear. He lifted his hand, trailed a single knuckle down the side of her temple, her cheek, her jaw, ❝you have so much good inside you, it makes me want to grab onto you with all that I have, because I need good, Bree, I need to know good. To see good. To believe in good,❞ he breathed shakily, ❝but all the goodness in you cannot defeat the monsters that walk in broad daylight. Monsters like Chase, like Alec, like...❞ He squeezed his eyes shut tight, closing the distance and resting his forehead against hers, the tips of their noses pressed against one another. ❝They'll get away. Monsters always do.❞ Bree swallowed past the lump in her throat, fought against the need to tilt her face and brush her lips against his, and instead, turned her head to kiss the corner of his mouth, where his upper and bottom lip met. ❝They don't always get away,❞ she whispered into his skin, sealing the vow with another soft kiss, ❝but until you learn to believe that, I'll fight them for you.❞ ••• In which Nick Fraser, the boy who'd grown up seeing monsters, believes he will spend the rest of his life running away from them... but then meets Bree Salvare, the girl with laughing brown eyes who makes him want to pause, take a deep breath, and stay instead. ••• ALL RIGHTS RESERVED ©LITERALIGHT
