Silk saree. Diamond necklace. Red lips. A wealthy man's possession. A mistress. Her fingers slowly touched the fading bruise near her collarbone before quickly moving away, as though even she could not bear touching herself anymore. Outside the locked bedroom, laughter and music echoed through the mansion halls. Another party. Another night where powerful people would stare at her with curiosity, pity, or hidden mockery. "That's Abhinandan Varada's mistress" "She used to be a classical dancer, right?" "What a waste." The whispers never ended. Ahalya closed her eyes tightly. Once, people looked at her with admiration. Now they looked at her like sin A knock came at the door. "Madam,""Sir is calling you downstairs." Her stomach tightened instantly. Fear had become instinct now. Ahalya wiped her tears before they could fall and forced herself to stand. No matter how broken she felt... He would still call. And she would still go. Because Abhinandan Varada always got what he wanted. Always. She slowly walked through the grand corridors of the mansion that looked more like a golden cage than a home. Guards lowered their heads as she passed. No one met her eyes. No one dared. There Abhinandan sat lazily on the couch, glass of whiskey in one hand, looking powerful enough to own the entire world. And maybe he did. But the moment his eyes landed on her, something dangerous softened in his expression. "There you are, little doe." The endearment made her chest ache. A year ago, she had been a rising dancer with dreams in her eyes. Now she trembled hearing a man call her with affection. He opened one arm toward her casually. "Come here." Ahalya stood frozen. Every instinct inside her wanted to run. But there was nowhere left to run anymore. Because the cruelest thing about Abhinandan Varada was not his power. Not his anger. Not even the darkness inside him. It was the way he destroyed her life... And then loved her among the ruins.

"Mummyji." Ishita softly called her mother-in-law mixing the wheat dough. "Haa, puttar bol." Toshiji replied peeling the boiled potatoes. "Bachpanme, Raman aapko leke bohot possessive honge na?" She casually added. (Raman might have been very possessive about in childhood, no?) "Nahi toh. Raman toh bohot understanding raha hai hamesha se." Toshiji chuckled "Haa apni dadise chipke reheta tha but bohot caring raha hai hamesha se. Books, games, pocket money sab kuch share karta tha Simmi aur Romi se. Haa Romi bohot rota tha jab koi Rinki ko thoda bohot bhi attention dedata." (Nope. He has been quite understanding. Yes he was clingy with his grandmother. But he used to share his books, games even pocket money with his siblings. Romi was a attetion seeker though.) "Really?" Ishita asked in disbelief. "Hmmm. Tera Raman bohot acha hai." Toshiji winked making her blush. (Hmmm. Your Raman is very nice.) "Kya Mummyji aap bhi." Toshiji laughed at her daughter-in-law reaction. (Mummyji, not you too.) Ishita covered the dough with a plate, wondering about the change in Raman's personality. As with her Raman is anything but Understanding. He is clingy, demanding and possessive as hell. Ishita pouted remembering how he didn't even let her stay at her parent's house. His excuses always ready before she even makes plan to visit her parents. How he tore that beautiful red dress because 3rd quarter was too short according to him. How he fired his employee because 2 second was too much to stare his wife. How ... "Ishita" Sighed as his voice echoed in whole house. Holding the tray with freshly brewed coffee, she climbed the stairs to attend Her Possessive Husband. ******* As the title says, a tale about sweet Ishita and Her Possessive Husband. Josh rips open the oven. "There's bread in here." He says, pulling out the hamburger bun. "Yeah." "Well I didn't put it there." He says. "What kind of bread is it?" "A bun." He shrugs. "Why did you put a bun in the oven?" I grin. "Why did you put a bun in the oven?" I repeat his question. _____ This is the third book of the Independent series, and you should read the first one "Miss Independent," and the second one, "Ms. Independent," before you invest time in this one, otherwise you won't understand anything.
