In which Shane Hollander doesn't get up after his run in on the ice, leaving Ilya completely heartbroken.

Ilyas's head had ended up between his knees, his hands wrapping around the back of his helmet. Ilya couldn't keep the thoughts away. He tried to think of things that didn't relate to Shane, or his mother, or hockey. Grasping at the mental straws, he couldn't come up with anything that didn't relate to Shane in some way. He had completely taken over Ilyas' life. Every good memory he had had Shane in it. Ilya spiralled further, the rubber floor seeming to spin. He had undone his helmet, letting it clatter onto the floor. OR What if Ilya couldn't hold it together when Shane got hurt.

Shane doesn't like the media guy for the Metros, but worse he seems determined to rile Ilya up. This could get embarrassing. Takes plays toward the end of book 6: The Long Game, after the meeting with Crowell but before the playoffs. Just a fun scene that popped into my head so I wrote it down. I have one more 2 chapter scene planned. I have no idea if I'll ever write a longer type story for these guys. We shall have to wait and see! I'm currently re-reading the books.
