A Cherokee widower falls in love at first sight, with a woman on the auction block of an 1830's slave auction. Unable to resist, he uses the rules of slavery to his advantage and buys her, with hopes of submerging her in the ways of his culture. Will the slave come to love him for him, or will the servitude that's been bred into her allow the slave to only see him as her massa?
