When she meets a man, the complete opposite of her she immediately takes a liking to him and wants to be the one to teach him how to enjoy the little things is life. Heath Jackson was a complicated man in many ways, from his complicated past to his guaranteed complicated future, he was never able to run away from his silent fears he'd face alone. He was closed off and hated the thought of even interacting with people, until someone was heavenly brought in to save him. --------------------------- "I'm thinking" He tells me and I frown. Is it really that hard to think about something nice about me? "I like your lips" He finally answers with a sly smirk on his face thinking he did something. "Which ones?" Seventeen-year-old Jeffrie Fortune is having a crappy winter break. First, there's the court hearing for beating up the guy that kissed her girlfriend a month prior. And then there's the whole issue of said girlfriend. But things quickly go from dramatic to dangerous when a stranger comes to town. Dressed in a top hat and donning a cane, the man with luminescent grey eyes is always wherever Jeffrie is. At the courthouse, outside her girlfriend's, and even at work. But when she finally demands he stop stalking her "like a creep," her crappy break is knocked on its ass. The man is Mr. Midnight, the Voice of Death. And he's here for her. However, Jeffrie soon learns Mr. Midnight isn't here for her soul. He's here to enlist her as a Death Agent - whatever the Hell that is. As she tries to not-so-politely refuse, Jeffrie discovers the ultimate truth: No one can deny Death forever.
