❝I- what? What are you talking about? Who is this?❞ ❝Well the bathroom stall says that this number is the gateway to a good time, and unless you're trying to say that a bathroom stall is lying to me, I think I need a little more information to be sold. BOOK 1 // Human Error (COMPLETE) BOOK 2 // Human Instinct (IN PROGRESS) *NOW OPTIONED FOR A TV SHOW* "Be not afraid of greatness. Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness engineered right into their DNA." - William Shakespeare, 1602 (adapted for BioPlus) Astrid Oxford is not normal. Two hundred years into the future, society is recovering from global collapse, and genetic modification has saved the remaining population from a hunger crisis. The alteration of human DNA has been illegal since the technology was developed, but in the heart of New London, a sinister trend has emerged among society's elite. Designer children have been the city's best-kept secret for years, but strange side effects are now appearing as they hit adolescence. When a freak suicide forces modification into the public eye, eighteen-year-old Astrid is about to learn how difficult it is to stay under the radar when you really were born to stand out.

If you haven't read Break It Up, this does have some spoilers in it. Everyone needs a safe space. For Lizzie Warner, that space has always been in front of the camera on her hit show, or on stage to a sold out concert arena. Since before she can remember, she's been a star, but that may be about to change. She's nineteen. Her show has been cancelled and now she's going to play the lead in a new prime time drama series, but is the world ready to take her seriously, or will she be typecast as the cute tween queen forever? Her network has decided to be aggressive and has invested millions of dollars in an ad campaign for her show, money she's not sure she can earn back. Her co-star can't stand her, and the writing for the show turns out to be poor at best. The only reason Lizzie didn't walk away from the job offer to begin with is because she's broke, the victim of a decade of bad money management. Then there's Devon, the personal trainer at her gym. Arrogant and abrasive, he's the last guy she should ever find attractive, but she has a hopeless crush on him anyway, and he doesn't seem entirely disinterested either. In fact, sometimes he's downright sweet to her. If only he weren't an untamable bad boy who uses and dumps women like they're nothing. Though Lizzie's friends warn her to stay away, he's the only person who can create what she needs: a safe space. But is there any way she can break him of his years' long habit of being a user?

Nancy Pang doesn't have a clue what love is. All she knows is that it's not going to help her win the Junior Mathematics Tournament, or get her into Harvard, or do anything except disrupt her college-prep life. Love is also not the solution to her brother's post-college problems, or her parents' constant fighting...(okay, maybe it is). And love certainly won't solve the issue of that annoying Alexander Lin who beats her in looks, popularity, AND intelligence. Unfortunately for Nancy, love is in the air whether she likes it or not.
