"Because I've got nothing left to lose." She responded simply, her voice laced with a hint of heartbreak, but the ruthless rage was a perfect tone to conceal it. Still, Pan noticed it. Metanoia took a step backwards and threw her arms wide open in the air as she laughed humourlessly. "And that is why I am now a threat to you, Peter Pan. "Who are you?" I demand. The boy in front of me replies, "That's not how this works, love." I freeze. That phrase. That voice. It can't be. I look up but he's just a cloaked silhouette. The rustling stops when boys surrounding us step from their hiding spots and light lanterns. Every single one of them masked and cloaked. Except the one in front of me. The lamps lit, and I see his face. "Whoa," slips from my lips as I stare at the boy in front of me. His eyes widen and his jaw almost, just almost, drops. With his guard down for that one instant I lose all fear and gain control. "You!" I yell suddenly overflowing with anger. My stomach heats with rage. I fight to stand, stronger this time with anger as fuel. He backs up, his breath increasing. Obviously, uneasy, I take it as a win and almost stand all the way. "You. What are you doing here? How did you find this place!" He switched to angry. "You! You're the reason! They put me back because of you! It was all cause of you! It was your fault! All of it!" I'm so angry I yell only what I can. My thoughts flying through my head I can only yell unexplained nonsense. I've never felt anger like this before. The red glow lightly pours off my own skin and I take notice to it. I compare it to the glow coming off of him. Suddenly, it's an instinct to allow the anger to explode and in doing so the red glow is taken from his chest as I absorb it all and throw it out in all directions. I yank down away from the boy holding me just as the red glow gets sucked from him, absorbed into my hands, and then thrown out in a sphere of red glow. All boys stumbling but not by much and the one holding me gets knocked back, I'm free. "You die now, Peter Pan!"

The wind could scream around me as loud as it wanted to but still the thoughts in my head would scream louder. And Peter Pan could clasp and pull me as close as he wished but my eyes would refuse to look back at his. The salty sea would stay far behind us, and the trees low beneath us for the entire flight to our next stop, and not once could I find the reason or courage to let him see what's in my eyes, in my mind. I could never. If, even for a moment, I allowed those seeping green eyes of Satan to catch a glimpse of my uncertainty then I would be handing him exactly what he wants.

"Davis, take her to the cage." Pan then turns and strides away. "Yes, sir," Davis replies while smirking at me. Despite my protests, he roughly grabs my arm and hauls me away from the group of boys and into the surrounding forest. I wait until I'm sure we are out of earshot before I make my move. I stamp on his foot hard. He winces and loosens his grip just enough for me to break free. I then kick him in his midsection causing him to lose his balance and snatch his spear away. I use the blade to slice the ropes binding my wrists and before Davis has time to call for help, I knock him out with one swing of the weapon. His unconscious form slumps to the ground and lays motionless at my feet. I grimace. He's going to have a huge lump on his head when he comes around. "Sorry Davis," I whisper and I take off into the woods. Peter Pan brought me to Neverland for a reason, but he's forgotten one very important detail. I've been here before.
