After a joke becomes a reality, George becomes an American citizen in a way he never thought he would: by marrying his best friend. It wasn't a big deal. The plan was that they'd get married, go through the whole citizenship process, and get George his green card. After that, they'd file for a divorce and it'd be like it never happened. In this particular story, George works at a coffee shop while also maintaining being an undercover detective working on the 'Smile Murderer' case with his partner; Nick. Clay, an everyday regular, catches George's attention. George sees him as a possible suspect for a moment, but it's replaced by the charm Clay has. However, Clay begins to act strangely as more of the murders happen. George, being the detective he is, notices this easily.
