Kai is left scarred, physically and emotionally, after the battle between he and Tech Wu in the junk yard. But when Wu's turned back to normal, he can't remember ever being under the Overlord's power- or fighting Kai, for that matter. He has no idea why Kai suddenly seems so tentative and wary. Protective, too. He figured it was just because he was missing Zane after the second defeat of the Overlord. But there was some other kind of bitterness which changed his mind. Now, Sensei Wu is trying to discover why his student is acting so strangely and gain his trust back at the same time that Kai tries to sort out his feelings about both losing Zane, and losing his sense of protection under Wu's care. Will their bond be rebuilt, or will it come crashing down?

Kai has only just joined his new team, consisting of three other boys like him. When their sensei sends them out for a team building exercise, Kai doesn't want anything to do with it. He doesn't want help, and thinks he knows best. When everything goes wrong, and it's a matter of life or death, Kai will have to make a decision. To trust.. or not to trust?

Six and Seven have known each other for a long time. They were childhood friends, they were close, each other's shoulder to cry on. Which was why they depended so heavily on one another. But when a challenge comes their way, it might not be enough. Racing to get out of the ship known as The Maw, Six and Seven find a dark past they aren't ready for. Facing their own challenges, the two have to overcome their inner demons by themselves, or risk losing each other on the way. In a world where you're the bottom of the food chain, you can only hope to have your last little daydream before death could consume you from the darkness.

So when an old man with a long white beard came to him and told him how he was destined to be a hero and save Ninjago....Cole was less than thrilled.
