Since Audrey is the only girl she has learned to cope with living with the boys. After 2 years in the glade some of the boys began to consider her the little sister of the glade and are now protective over her. The other boys became her enemies. Newt needs to protect her now more than ever. When Thomas comes up in The Box it begins to get harder to keep her safe when the way out of the maze is so dangerous.
