This fic follows the plot of Guillermo Del Toro's "Crimson Peak" but with alterations. The reader is a young, independent woman who gains the attention of a mysterious Thomas Sharpe. It basically follows the movie except for a happier ending and a lesser, but still prevalent, degree of Gothic tropes/dark tones. Allerdale Hall had to be the creepiest place (y/n) ever set foot on. She didn't want to be there, but she had no choice. As her father's assistant in his book-writing process, she has had to travel around the world documenting details about the mysterious places they have visited.
