_____________________________________ ✨THE DEVIL I CALLED HUSBAND ✨ _____________________________________ Amisha (eleven, white kurta, black skirt brushing ankles, single thick braid swinging) appeared at the archway. Her eyes were huge, confused. "Kahan ja rahe ho aap?" She twisted the end of her braid. "Sab log aapko bye bolne aaye hain..." He didn't turn. "Foreign. Padhne." Her sandals scraped closer. "Kitne din?" No answer. "Wapas kab aaoge?" Still nothing. "Aap wahan kya padhoge? Maths? Woh pulley wala?" She tried a smile. "Mujhe bhi sikha dena jab-" "AMISHA, CHUP!" The roar exploded, raw, vicious. He spun, face twisted, eyes black fire. "KITNI BAAR BOLNA PADEGA? MUJHSE SAWAL MAT KAR! HAR BAAT MEIN MUJH PAR LATKTI HO JAISE KOI GADDI HO! MAIN JA RAHA HOON AUR TUMHARA KOI HAQ NAHI HAI ROKNE KA!" She froze, braid mid-swing. "SAMJHAA? TUM EK BOJH HO! SIRF RONA AATA HAI! MOTI, CHOTI, BEWAQoof LADKI! MAIN YAHAN SE NIKAL RAHA HOON AUR TUM MERE LIYE KUCH BHI NAHI HO! KUCH BHI NAHI!" Each word was a slap. He stepped closer, towering. "AGAR EK AUR SAWAL KIYA NA, TOH AAJ HI IS HAVELI SE NIKALWA DUNGA! JAO! ABHI! MUJHSE DOOR!" Silence cracked open. Amisha's face drained white, then flooded crimson. Her lips parted-no sound. Tears spilled, instant, silent, huge. She turned. Ran. White kurta flashing like a ghost down the corridor, braid whipping behind her like a broken rope. Sobs tore out of her throat (sharp, animal, terrified). Abhiraj stood rooted, chest heaving. The courtyard blurred. His own voice echoed back, monstrous. He punched the pillar once-hard. Knuckles split. The powerful haryanvi saga of a devoted man fighting his lover's fear "Baat ko samjhiye... hum nahi ho sakte ek," she whispered against his lips, tears sliding down her cheeks. His breath trembled. "Kyun nahi ho sakte ek..."His voice cracked between anger and pleading. He brushed his lips over hers again, desperate and scared. "Aapka khandan.. mujhe kabhi apna nahi paayega," she breathed. Her fingers tangled in his hair, trying to calm the storm rising inside him. He smiled faintly, lips still touching hers. "Unke apnane ya na apnane se kya farq padta hai, jaan" He took a deep breath, his chest pressed against hers "Humne toh apna liya hai na, aapko." Her fingers brushed his hair back. She swallowed hard. "Lekin...aapke maa-bapu aapse naraz ho jaayenge, na Pardhan ji." He closed his eyes and kissed her again, slower this time ,a silent plea for her to understand how much she meant to him "Unki narazgi seh lenge, lekin aapka chale jaana humse nahi saha jaayega," he murmured. Her breath caught. "Badnaam ho jaayenge aap...hume apna kar ke.." He cupped her face, thumb tracing the mole on her chin. "Agar badnami ke badle, aap mil rahe ho" He paused, eyes fixed on hers. "Yoh jaat sareaam badnaam hona chahvega" His Haryanvi accent rolled smoothly over his tongue She looked up. His eyes were steady not just possessive but certain, as if he had already chosen her against the world. Before she could argue, he pressed a finger gently to her lips. "Shhh..." Her heart hammered. She nodded faintly. Then his voice dropped to a vow. "Ek baat samajh lijiye, Heer..." He leaned closer, his breath warm against her ear. "Agar iss jaat ki koi jaatni hogi, toh woh sirf aap hongi, sirf aap," he said, his voice deepening on the last words to let her know he meant every bit of it. He looked straight into her eyes, one eyebrow lifting slightly. "Samjhi... MRS. HEER ANIRUDH SANGWAN." He kissed her forehead softly before standing up. To be continued... Story by AishRomantics

"Ouchh," I cried trying to balance. I looked up at him with soft eyes, flushed cheeks. He looked into my eyes with his knitted ones. His hair lying over his sweaty forehead. I never presumed to glimpse him this close. His photographs conveyed his good looks but his dominating aura was hard to handle. I was feeling scared to even breathe in his arms. Bringing his fingers to my face he gently pushed hair strands behind my ear. I lowered my eyes feeling extremely shy. "Sambhal kar chaliye zara, har waqt bahein nahi hongi hamari sambhalne ko," he said in a scratchy tone. There was a hint of taunt present. I knitted my brows to his words and quickly matched his aura. "Hume chahiye bhi nahi," I said glaring at him. He shot his eyebrows a little and I pushed him to leave angrily. Turning around I stepped up on another dumbbell and slipped over it again. I threw my hands in the air for support and once again found him snaking my waist and pulling my back closer to his chest. "Are you sure," he asked over my ears. I angrily looked back at him, found him smirking. "Baahon mein girte girte, mohabbat me mat giriyega hamare," he whispered looking into my eyes. "Kabhi nahi," I replied and left. I royally ignored his taunt only to end up marrying him. Day by day my feelings for him grew stronger though finding happiness was becoming a risky game. But I was heartbroken upon discovering that he only married me out of pity and loved someone else who he was to marry. Not having parents from young age now made me helpless. It felt good to leave home where my family cared for me all these years, after my parents. I did not want to go back and be a burden again. But living this life with him didn't seem fruitful either. This is love story of Tejas Pratap Rathore and Sunaina Maan Singh. Storyline takes place in the early years of 21st century (2001). A beloved saga tying them together in love and commitment whilst they dwell over misunderstandings and growing feelings.
