'मैत्र जीवांचे' हे मी एक लेखक म्हणून लिहिलेले पहिले पुस्तक आहे. आज युनिकोड स्वरुपात पुस्तक पुन्हा प्रकाशित करत असताना एक गोष्ट माझ्या लक्षात आली. जेव्हा आपण नवखे लेखक असतो, तेव्हा आपली भाषा वेगळीच अलंकारीत असते. हे सगळं आपण जाणूनबुजून करत नसतो, ते आपोआप घडत असतं. सोबतच जेव्हा तुम्ही तुमचे जुने साहित्य बऱ्याच वर्षांनी वाचत असता, तेव्हा तुम्हाला त्यातील त्रुटी आणि चुका लक्षात येतात आणि तुम्ही गालातल्या गालात हसू लागता. माझ्या बाबतीत देखील तेच झाले. अग्निपुत्र, पुन्हा नव्याने सुरुवात आणि Terror Attack at डोंबिवली Station ही पुस्तकं लिहिल्यानंतर भाषा जेवढी प्रगल्भ झाली तेवढी ती आधी नव्हती, पण मला त्या दुरुस्त नाही करायच्या आहेत, त्यामुळे मी तेव्हा कसा होतो हे तुमच्या लक्षात येईलच. (एवढंही वाईट नाही हा!) पण पुस्तक वाचत असताना पुढील गोष्ट कायम लक्षात असू द्या, ही कादंबरी
