Ten years after the prestigious Hunter Exam that started the friendship of Gon, Killua, Kurapika and Leorio, what has become of their lives? Leorio is now a practicing Medical doctor struggling for senior promotion in the most competitive hospital in York New City. Kurapica finally assumed responsibility as one of the Zodiacs in the Hunter Association. While Gon, after settling scores with his long lost father, has grown into a well-known hunter. On the otherhand, Killua, after parting ways with Gon, travelled the world with his little brother Alluka, who also carries a very special ability which his family is after. Alluka has gone sick, and this dilemma caused all their paths to cross again for another adventure with new characters from Leorio's field.

They climbed to the top together. It was them against the world. Gon Freecs and Killua Zoldyck, a world famous duo of triple star hunters. Just when an infamous hunter appears and the stakes are higher than ever, Killua decides him and Gon's days of adventure are permanently over, and leaves the other in questioning.

Kirahki Freecss is Gon's sister. Mito-san adopted her when she was just a baby. The only clue she has about her birth family is the fact that her eyes turn a brilliant shade of red whenever she feels intense emotion. Wanting to know more about where she comes from, Kira decides that becoming a Hunter could help her find the answers she seeks. She recently left Whale Island to try to find any information that could lead her to her birth family, promising to meetup with Gon at the Hunter's exam site. During the Hunter Qualification Exam, she meets the ex-assassin Killua, Kurapika the last surviving member of the Kurta Clan, and Leorio a simple guy who aspires to become a doctor. Can Kurapika help her fill in the missing blanks? Hisoka definitely seems to know something... And will Kira be able to get Killua to open his heart?
