I began this piece of writing as a class assignment, but fell in love with the idea of becoming involved in Fitzgerald's complicated plot of The Great Gatsby, a story based in the debonaire 1930's. If you have not read The Great Gatsby, this is all you need to know to understand my short story: ♦︎ In New York, there were two islands called the East Egg and West Egg. Although both were wealthy, the West Egg people had earned their money through work, while the East Egg consisted mostly of people who inherited their riches. ♦︎ Mr. Jay Gatsby is a man who built up his money. He has fallen in love with the beautiful, yet already married, Daisy Buchanan. Sadly, he was never a man to understand true character. My character has fallen in love with Mr. Gatsby, but what she doesn't know is that love can be deadly. An Elleth named Eleniel was captured by a party of Orcs 500 years ago from her home and killed her family in front of her. she was tortured, abused and raped by the Orcs and years later she turned into an Orc herself and was forced to kill creatures but the one thing she couldn't and wouldn't kill was an Elf. She was marching off to war in helms deep to end the line of men but what happens when she sees that not only men are there to defend themselves but elves are also there and when she sees Prince Legolas she begs him to kill her, Legolas was shocked to see an Orc speak Elvish and once he did what she wished, Killed her. She started to turn back to her normal self, but will she ever be normal? Will she go back to her old life? Will people accept her? will she heal? and lastly What will Legolas do when he falls in love?

Patria is a young, beautiful girl who works for the Paris Opera as a ballerina to scrape by whatever money she can. One night, she becomes acquainted with an angelically beautiful revolutionary with the weight of the world on his shoulders named Enjolras. As the two grow closer, Patria begins to kindle a passion for the revolution as well as a passion for the leader, the charming Apollo . (Okay. So the summary really doesn't do it justice or anything, but I tried to incorporate details from the musical, the movie and from the book.) Hope y'all enjoy! :)
