JJ and Emily have a complicated history. They had feelings for each other, but JJ got scared and ran away, straight into a relationship with Will. Then everything changed when Ian Doyle showed up. Part of Emily's secretive past caught up with her. Emily faced Ian and survived, but no one but Hotch, Strauss, and the Ambassador knew she survived. When she finally returned, she didn't come back the same person she was when she left. JJ didn't come back from her secretive time away the same either. The team thought she was at the State Department. Know one knew she was in the Middle East trying to find terrorists or grieving, thinking Emily died fighting Ian. Emily is back, but is still keeping some big secrets from everyone, but JJ has a couple big secrets of her own. Can they find their way back to each other?

JJ thought she loved Will, but after he becomes verbally and sometimes physically abusive, they get a divorce. Emily being the friend she is, helps her through this tough time, but finds herself getting in too deep once JJ puts herself in danger.
