"I've seen you checking me out." "Oh god." "Honestly, I'm flattered." ♂ This story is about Steven and his journey to 'finding himself'. He doesn't dig the name, either. Together with his best friends, Darren and Leila, he discovers that the world isn't all about Applebee's and turning up early for football practice like he taught himself when he signed up to be friends with Darren. Maybe not everything is as it seems. [ contains swearing, yay. read at your own risk of taking over my habit to say the dangerous f-word after everything. i'll try to keep it to a minimum ] [ cover made by _teenagers ] [ also this is very much mine so i'd appreciate it if it stayed that way thank you all rights reserved scribendo © 2014 ]

Kaden Avery is a budding journalist for the school newspaper. He interviews the best of the best: captains of the school sports teams; highest scorers in the year; the most popular girls and guy’s in the school. Asher Coleman plays soccer. He’s not the worst, no, he’s not the best either. Paired up with his barely passing grades and being best friends with a popular jerk, he’s never had the pleasure of making the front page- or any page in the newspaper for that matter. Kaden and Asher never had anything in common, or anything to bond over, so it wasn’t like with a snap of their fingers they could be friends. At this school you couldn’t just move cliques- it was just unheard of. But when Kaden comes out, shocking the homophobic school, this could be Ashers chance to seize the moment, and embrace the newly acquired gayness.

"I didn't know you had friends like Isaac," Willa said in greeting. "I don't," muttered Jared. Isaac rolled his eyes. "Yeah, you don't. You have //one// friend like Isaac." His voice turned into this stupid mock whisper and he leaned towards Jared conspiratorially. "It's me, by the way."
