Misuzu Kamio has been sick for most of her life. The doctors can't figure out what's wrong with her. All they know is that she is gradually losing her energy. Her college teacher is Shiota Sensei. He is worried about Misuzu as he gives her the summer project that she needs to complete in order to graduate. The two become closer. Misuzu feels like she has finally made her first friend in life.
