After the torture he was subjected to in the Readjustment Classes, John wasn't sure how he could bear to live with himself anymore, not after everything he did as the Tyrant of New Bostin. He wasn't a good person. He was nothing but the hollow husk of a monster, something that should be left to fade away into the darkness-alone, forgotten. But within that pit he was content with laying in, to let any shred of hope he could have wilt and die, a light pierced through the depths. Unordinary, a book his dad wrote for him, and John finds it in himself to believe...maybe he can be a good person after all. Or: William's message truly gets through to John, he learns to help others with his power, and changes ripple throughout John's life and the hierarchy that almost destroyed him because of it.

Ever heard of the story where the football player gets the cheerleader? Or the one where the football player goes for the stereotypical nerd? Aren't those so cliche? But aren't the cliche love stories the best kinds of love stories? I have this theory where if you want a cliche story, you have to become apart of the cliche. Become that cheerleader, become that nerd anything to get the guy. But here's my problem, I can't become that cliche because too much is riding on that line. To make it worse I'm the kicker on his football team. So to him I'm just "one of the guys"

[AMBYS WINNER 2024] Mutilated, dejected and stained by the blood of his loved ones, Lucius Cromwell, a precocious and naïve child of high society, strikes a deal with an unhallowed Scourge of 'The Waste' in order to get his life back, blissfully ignorant that he'll consequently find his humanity on the line. *** A disturbing voice has been tormenting Lucius' mind for the longest time. Disregarding its sinister way of suggesting revenge on people who hurt him as mere thoughts he goes about his day, doing his best to live up to his superficial parents' standards and following the ideals of his Archon of worship. Life is lacklustre, but hardly worth causing a scene over. When a life altering event renders Lucius struggling not to die on the streets however things turn grim very fast, and in an act of desperation Lucius casts his beliefs aside, promising his soul to be devoured by The Waste at the time of his death with the promise of power in return. It doesn't take long for Lucius to realize that even the smallest of favors promised to him come with a catch, and being forced to do the Scourge of The Waste's wicked bidding while watching loved one after loved one disappear from his life Lucius has to wonder if a lifetime of power was really worth an eternity of suffering.
