Maki Iwase's life was planned out before she was even born. To be married right after she graduates from high school and become a strong hero alongside her husband-to-be. Her parents met each other in high school and married each other right after they graduated. They love each other but also married each other because of their quirks. Her mother, Sora, has an air manipulation quirk while her father, Daichi, has an earth manipulation quirk. When Sora overuses her quirk, she becomes weightless for a few hours. When Daichi overuses his quirk, his body becomes increasingly heavier until he can't move himself for a few hours. Their quirks counteracted each other, and that's exactly why they sought each other out. They're both popular heroes in the top ten though they didn't try too hard to be ranked high. That was for their children to achieve. They're both good friends with Endeavor. Their children have been close to each other all their lives. They knew Endeavor was trying for a kid with both quirks which is why they're good friends. They were hoping for that too. Once the two quirk-wielding children were born, the adults already planned for an arranged marriage. They never knew how Enji treated his family though.
