Avatars are shapeshifters that have the ability to transform into two forms: their human form and their avatar wolf form at free will. About 1/4 of all Avatars are also intersex. No one knows why some of the population were born as Avatars. Beyonce is the only Avatar in her family who, not only is intersex, but the only one who has not printed (a process in which an avatar makes claim on a human, forever marking their soul as linked to theirs). This is abnormal only in the matter that most Avatars print before the age of 15. Beyonce, now 17, was never bothered by the fact that she had not printed yet and if it were up to her, she could live the rest of her life without printing....until Onika Maraj that is...
