Deku was always a hard working individual. Everyone who had met him would agree to this statement. Deku doesn't have the greatest childhood, his parents were murdered in front of him by villains. This detail is the main reason why Izuku trains so hard and so often. Izuku's training is all based on sheer fighting power. he will train until he's close to passing out. He trains to escape his past, he trains so he could become strong enough to prevent it and he trains because he is weak... or at least that's what he thinks. He will be quirkless but will never give up no matter what. He eventually wields a 5 ton metal bat as training and will eventually use it as a weapon. He won't be joining any hero courses straight away so he'll be a vigilante for a long time. He'll also live in the wild for most of his life after the incident.
