Merlin is left in charge to care for his own kingdom, Aeyland. While in the midst in the course of events, Merlin's mind is a blank slate-all memories of Arthur now washed away. Things are going smoothly, until Merlin gets a sudden sense, rushing to a certain lake. There, Arthur rises. Merlin has no idea who the 'stranger' is, and why he was called upon his awakening. And Arthur realizes he'll have to start over with Merlin, hoping those drained memories will make an appearance once again. He just doesn't know if Merlin will ever be the same way again. Merthur AU (Set around early season 4) Arthur Pendragon is the new king of Camelot having assumed the throne after his father's death at the hands of his sister, Morgana. One day while out on a hunt, a Druid appears, telling him of his destiny; a man named Emrys who resides in Ealdor. The Druid advises the king to seek out the man, for Arthur's destiny cannot begin without him, for he is Morgana's doom. Merlin is a young warlock living in the small farming village of Ealdor. His life is quiet. He spends his days toiling away at the fields with his best friend Will while honing his magical talents with the help of his mentor, Gaius, the physician from Camelot who visits on occasion. When he meets Arthur Pendragon, he can't help but hate the prat. Of course, until he gets to know him better. Meanwhile, Morgana scours the kingdom for the sorcerer Emrys. Desperate to find him before he finds her. When her search leads her towards Ealdor, she's surprised to find Arthur there, and with a scrawny peasant boy no less. As their paths cross in the usually uneventful village, it becomes a race between the son and daughter of Uther Pendragon to either save or destroy Emrys.

The king feels no guilt when he enters the couple's home, killing both Balinor and Hunith as they try desperately to protect their son. But, instead of having the child meet the same fate Uther decides to keep the young dragonlord as a form of token. A spoil of war. So, once he returns he locks the boy away somewhere deep in Camelot's dungeons. Merlin remains there for years, alone and afraid until one day a young prince finds him.

Merlin suffers at the hands of foreign lords. Arthur dismisses the situation as he doesn't appreciate Merlin as more than just a servant. *bromance, slight whump, mainly Merlin getting roasted and shrekd by Arthur. Completed.* Cover art is by me

**COMPLETED After Arthur legalised magic, Merlin probably should have told him about his own magic. But he didn't. Now Arthur embarks on a search for a sorcerer already at his side, and all kinds of chaos ensues.

In a world where your soulmate's name is revealed on your wrist, Arthur is too dumb to realize Merlin is the " Emrys " on his arm. Thus, Arthur hires a new, pretty, female manservant as to court her. Therefore, he begins distancing himself from Merlin (unintentionally of course). Not only is it hurting Merlin, it is risking Arthur's life. Especially when branches stop falling on bandits heads and Arthur is the bandits' target. NOTE: dang this is #11 in merlinxarthur rn as of may 19, 2018 so thank u guys!!
