Deep booming laughter filled the cave, echoing all around as I spun to try and find the source. The quiet whispering of scales upon rock trickled into my ears from behind. I raised my sword and turned, only to be stopped by pale hands upon my waist and fiery gold slitted eyes staring at me, as the beast turned man before me smirked. "You are brave little knight... but bravery isn't enough. It's high time you learned of the real world and your fate. Your string of fate glows so sickeningly bright," it crooned into my ear, making shivers wracking my spine. I felt it's sharp claws digging into the cracks between my armor and slicing through thin layers of skin. "Brighter than gold, stronger then the fire that resides within me... your fate is beautiful in such a gloriously twisted way." I'm going to die. "Fire... is only the beginning," it's voice whispered, as the edges of my vision went black. "Soon you will be our champion. The champion of ...dragons..."
