An alternate universe Jalex based in high school where i attempt to make the story line original and cute, but it's all a matter of opinion really, i can't brainwash you into gushing over cuddles. No Jock vs Nerd cliches here, just two neighbors who eventually fall in love. Sound's pretty straight forward, right? But do you dare to believe me, or is there more than what meets the eye? (The actual Jalex begins at about 7, the chapters are kind of short and it's always hinted before then but if you're not that patient then i thought you might want to know ^__^) (Written in the constant P.O.V of Alex, but Jack is mentioned in basically every chapter so you won't have to keep up with the constant switch)

Alex Gaskarth is a nobody. He's just one small speck that walks the world alone and barely makes it by. He's lived off of his parents ever since he graduated, but now that they've moved back to England and left him in Baltimore, he's barely able to pay to put food on the table. He doesn't have a job (and doesn't care to get one) so the only way that he's able to make money is playing guitar in the local park, but what happens one day when he's approached by a stranger who just so happens to also be a part of the richest family in Baltimore? Jack Barakat is a somebody. Being one of the four children of a wealthy industry owner, he pretty much has enough money to buy whatever he wants and more. He enjoys having money, but there's one problem... Eventually the money runs out and the fact that his father has an obsession with alcohol and his mother is addicted to cocaine isn't helping any. He thought he could have all the fun being rich, but he's at the point where he realizes that the money will eventually get to your head and he wants out of that life. That's when he stumbles across a man playing guitar in the park. That's when he realizes that he may get the chance to live "normally" for once. This is a story I am cowriting on mibba. Alex is a troublemaker, yet he doesn't want to be. It's just that when people get too close, or too personal for his comfort, he snaps. Events of his past have left him afraid of almost any physical contact, and other people in general. He's trying to mend his broken life, and is offered a fresh start after being expelled from his last school. Jack, on the other hand, is depressed. He feels worthless, like a waste of life and space, and has just about the lowest self-esteem possible. He's searching for the affection and comfort he so desperately needs. The meet at a bus stop one day, but are torn apart when Alex has to suddenly run off, without even giving the boys a chance to exchange names. Half a year later, the pair is reunited, when Jack is assigned to be Alex's tour guide on his first day at Dulaney High. Their feelings for one another quickly grow, though they're confused about where, exactly, the relationship is headed. Can the two boys help each other? Are they enough?

If it wasn't for one faulty clasp, Jack Barakat and Alex Gaskarth would have been nothing more than another one night stand to each other. Alex just moved to Baltimore and he already has all the popular kids wrapped around his little finger. How he managed to climb to the top of the popularity list is beyond Jack's knowing. All Jack know's is that he can't wait to be far away from the school, from the popular kids, and farther away from Alex as possible. But what happens when a thought gets planted in Jack's lonely mind? When Jack starts to question things, question himself even, things take an unexpected turn. Did he really want to be far away from Alex? His mind said yes, but his heart says other wise. Everyone always tells you to listen to your heart, but people who are wiser than him-insert sarcastic laugh here- like his mother, his teachers, ect. yells at him, "Use your goddamn brain Jack!" So now the skunk color haired boy has to make a decision. Should he take a chance with his thoughts, or should he just forget them and be left to wonder the ultimate question. "What could have been?" Alex Gaskarth can't seem to keep it together. His girlfriend left him and now, he's watching his life fall apart around him as his anxiety takes over. When everything becomes too much, he goes to visit his aunt in South Carolina. All he needs is a break from touring and all the memories of the girl he can't stop loving. However, there's more waiting for him in the south than a well-meaning aunt and some relaxation. Could a sweet southern belle be the saving grace Alex needs or will he never quite recover from the wounds his ex left?

Meeting someone could change your views about everything you thought you knew about yourself and the world. Or it could be completely meaningless.

Jack Barakat has had enough of being upset with his life and is taking charge of his own happiness. He pledges to never revert back to his old self, and be who he truly is. Even if who he truly is attracts Alex Gaskarth, the asshole.
