Desperate to keep her magic hidden, Katerina goes to great lengths to avoid dragons and mages. When she gets cornered by evil mages, her only chance at escape involves freeing a trapped dragon. * * * Katerina's biggest fear is that unscrupulous mages or dragons would discover her magic and use her as a living magical battery. When she stumbles into a group of evil mages trying to magically enslave a dragon, she releases the dragon to act as a distraction, hoping he would attack the mages while she escaped. But magic has rules, and when you free a dragon mage, it creates magedebt that they must repay, lest their magic fade. Forced to travel together, Katerina struggles to hide her magic as she accompanies Rakota and his friends while they hunt down the Shadow Mages. Rakota is one of many dragons who detest humans due to how many have tried to slay him, steal his treasure, or control him with magic. He has no desire for a rider, but when his childhood sweetheart shows up, she won't consider courtship unless he has one. As if evil mages with ancient spells aren't enough, word comes from the coast that the nagas are planning to invade and wipe out the humans. Goals and secrets clash as Katerina strives to keep her magic hidden, yet that very magic might be the key to stopping the war, and becoming Rakota's rider would give him the family he's always dreamed of. But all magic has a price, and to become a rider, she'd have to forfeit her freedom. Copyright November 2022. All Rights Reserved. Readers may not copy or steal this story. Sequel to Upon Wings Of Change. The dragonets are flourishing; both those in the park and those helping the Kymari. As the first dragonets to hatch in the Kymari civilization, Tessa and her brother are paving a new path as they grow up and learn how to fit into the world. New beginnings are often great things, but sometimes shadows from the distant past come calling. ----------------------------------- I did not originally intend to write a sequel to Upon Wings of Change, but due to a rather large number of requests from numerous individuals, here it is - my first-ever sequel... 'Fight or Flight' is a fanfic based on ChristalScherer's book Upon Wings of Change. I recommend reading it first, as there is a spoiler for the end in chapter 18 of 60. Btw, this is my first fanfic, but not my first time writing. Scientists acquired alien tech, and being without a conscious, decided to experiment on humans. Sela was already out on her own at nineteen. Warren was twenty-three and months away from graduating top of his class. Both were taken, and both were turned into dragonettes. Not long after, the Votec wiped humanity off the face of the planet only to be run off themselves by the Kymari. Banded together with a few other dragonetts, Warren and Sela decided to stay away from the Kymari cities judging the monster-infected forest safer. However, as the years progressed, more dangers arose and chances of survival shrunk. They had to move. Nothing ever went as it was supposed to, and the attempt to relocate came at a high cost. Instead of simply trying to find a new home, Sela was left trying to find Warren while he struggled to make his way back to Earth after being taken. Escript: Was it worth it? Tasha could have been lying or even mistaken about Warren, but the image she shared-it was him. Without a doubt it was him. Sela swallowed hard watching the Kymari enter the shuttle; it was right there, her chance to get Warren back was in front of her, but there was a cost, and she wasn't sure she wanted to pay. She could leave and never look back. It would be that easy. All she had to do was turn around and go, but that meant leaving Macy alone with the Kymari. If her fears were true she couldn't leave him. She couldn't bring herself to move. Indecision kept her rooted to the spot, the seeping cold locking her muscles in place. She wouldn't go back into a cage-but Warren. How could she pass on a chance to get him back? She couldn't lead by herself, she needed him. She wanted him back. Whatever it took.

I have a soft spot for clean and funny jokes. Perhaps you do too. I have slowly been collecting things that I found particularly humorous. Most of these are not mine, although a few are. Some chapters are just images, and will have (images) in the chapter title. A new chapter every Monday. Enjoy. :) I kindly request that people refrain from swearing in my books. The English language is huge, and many other things can be used instead. I don't mind things like shit, blast it, or fuzzy bunny slippers, but I can't stand the f-bomb or when people insult female dogs. If people want to vent, why not do it more creatively? Nicky manages it quite well in The Virus Within. The lovely cover was made by @Ellie6880!

No one ever said what would happen when dragons and aliens meet. And no one told me that I would be in the middle of it. Tasha was studying hard to get through her last year of university when she was kidnapped. She certainly didn't expect to wake up with four feet and wings. Mad scientists are bad enough, but things get even more complicated when aliens appear and wipe out the human race. Is there a way for her to hide her true identity in this new world while retaining her humanity? --------------------- Sneak Peek: I jumped over the lip of the tray and beat down hard with my wings. I had expected to only slow my fall; I had not expected to end up gaining so much height. I squawked in surprise and spread my wings wide in alarm before gravity regained its hold on me. With several awkward back-winging motions of my wings, I landed lightly on the floor. Well, at least I know my wings work. I glanced at the man in the corner as he was scribbling quick notes. I turned around to regard the tray again. They say practice makes perfect. With another hop and a single wingbeat, I managed to land in the sand tray with fanned wings slowing my momentum. That was much more graceful. But a wing-assisted hop wasn't true flight. And I still wasn't on the windowsill. ---------------------------- Entire semi-polished draft can be read on Wattpad. Isabelle loved playing sports with her little brother Sammy, which came in handy when trying to outrun some men. When kidnapped she expected to wake up in someones basement, not a cat with wings in a glass cage. If she didn't loose her sanity after that, she sure did when humanity was killed by an alien race. Would there be any way to survive amongst these creatures? ----- Story sort off based off of @CrystalScherer story Upon Wings Of Change. I highly recommend reading her book before reading mine, you'll understand it much better. ----- (Cover to this story ain't mine, found it on Google)

Spin-off of "Upon Wings of Change" by CrystalScherer. Bright remembered nothing before hatching out of a large green egg other than the fact that she had not been a dragon beforehand. She couldn't remember her own name, yet she knew this was not the way it was supposed to be. To make things worst just when she was starting to adjust aliens decide to take over to the world. But Bright is different from the other dragonets. She doesn't have the same fear the others have and she is more willing to get close to the aliens, but at what cost? Makes more sense if you have read Upon Wings Of Change by CrystalScherer but it's not required to understand the story. CrystalScherer is one of my favorite authors of all time. Please go follow her.

DISCONTINUED! Zara Bennet has never been one to run away from a fight. She is a merciless spitfire and quite the mischievous girl. Her favourite thing to do is play nasty pranks. But when Zara is kidnapped by some weirdos in white coats and wakes up in a new body, things start to change. Her home is destroyed leaving her to rely on her newfound instincts to stay alive and out of the way of the aliens. She's been doing great at it for the past few years. Until after an accident, when she's left on death's door and, once again, is kidnapped. Don't people know it's rude to take someone without their consent? Sneak Peek: I hiss at the man who's holding me as he stretches my wing and immediately throw my claws into his arm. He's put me in just the right position to be able to slash at his inner arm. I grin ferally and watch as the man yelps in pain, blood trickling out of the deep claw marks on his arm. The scientist looks at me in surprise. "Specimen D5844 has succeeded in getting a hit on the lab assistant and seems proud of herself. Her intelligence should be monitored, in case there is more than meets the eye." I hiss at the scientist and dig my claws deeper into the lab assistant's angry red skin. He quickly drops me, letting the air flow past me and beat into my scales as I fall. I swiftly start to panic. I hadn't thought this far ahead yet.

This story is a spin-off of @CrystalSercher. I am not copying her work in any way, that is copyright, and I would never do that. I have asked her permission to use her book as inspiration and stroryline. It is obvious it will not be the same as the original. I want my own flare to it. Pine is studying in college. She has a great academic record, but she also lives to do things that could spoil it all for her. She was coming back to her dorm from a party, and she is intoxicated. Pine's kidnappers sneak up behind her, taking advantage of her state. She is kidnapped, and taken to a lab. She has become a strange creature, and many more have been as well. Now they must learn to get used to their new bodies...and a new beginning.

This story is inspired by Crystal Scherer's story Upon Wings Of Change. Be aware that I added my little twist to it so it's not an exact replica of her work. Living within the confines of walls never bothered Almond. At least she has her siblings by her side. The day that the ground shook beneath the pups' paws would make itself known to their fragile minds as the beginning of a new era. An era of aliens and fire lizards. Our small forms rush out into the darkness of twilight. The bright speckles of light against the dark sky don't have time to be acknowledged as another tremor shakes the ground beneath our paws. It trips both Sun and Twig who let out cries of terror. They quickly get back up and dash after the rest of us. Together, we run in search of shelter. The lack of long term exercise makes itself known when my muscles become shaky and weak beneath me. As my surroundings shake again, I lose my footing and a sharp tingling pain stabs into my right shoulder. My snout is met with a mouthful of dirt which gets caught in the back of my throat. Unable to chase after my panicking siblings and struggling to breath, more fear adds to the jumble of emotions bouncing around in my head. Pain from my strained muscles, terror due to the ear shattering screams in the distance, fear of possibly choking to death, losing my brothers and sisters, and living alone for the rest of my life. All struggling over the other for more space. After what feels like years, the scratchy substance of the ground is coughed up and spat out. I catch my breath as everything around me goes through another series of rumbles, screams finally relieving my flattened ears. All goes quiet and the shaking stops. Insects stay silent, birds stay hidden, all that I manage to pick up is the sporadic sound of my heart beat and breathing. What's happening?
