( slow burn, no upside down/powers; elevens name is just el; takes place right after they became friends but that happened sooner in the summer; hopper is el's adoptive dad; her biological dad is martin brenner who's in prison for abusing her, and her mom isn't alive; there's confusion, angst, a little fluff, lowkey slowburn and excessive gay panic )

Max has been feeling really odd around her best friend, El. She loves her more than she's ever loved anyone or anything, ever- as a friend, of course. These feelings are crushing Max to pieces, and she doesn't know what to do about it. *(Guys, they're not actually just going to be friends. They obviously like each other, they're gonna be soft lesbians, okay? Okay.) !!MAJOR S3 SPOILERS!!
