"Woah, slow down. What?" I heard him say and I furrowed my eyebrows, looking up. "Ma.." He trailed off and I already knew it was his mother. "That has nothing to do with you." He said and I sat up because I could hear him getting angry. "What's wrong?" I asked him and he put his phone on speaker. "I can't believe you got that little.." She trailed off, too angry to even get her words out. "..whore pregnant, Sage." "And then the little slut gets an abortion, I hope she knows that she will rot in hell." She said and my heart dropped. He hung up the phone on her before she could say anything else. "Baby." He looked at me as I bit my lip, standing to my feet. "Olive." He stood to his feet as well. I quickly walked to the bathroom and closed the door behind me before Sage could catch me. I broke down crying as he stood on the other side of the door. "Babygirl, I love you." "I love you too." I told him, breathing heavily. "Don't cry, love. Nothing she says matters, she's just mad because I love you so much and there's nothing she can say to change that." "Open the door for me please?" I wiped my face before I slowly opened the door for him. "I'm done with her." He said, shaking his head. He pulled me to him, wrapping his arms around my waist as he shoved his head into my neck. "Until she can learn to respect you as my lady, she's out of our life."

"What's wrong ma?" He questioned after a few seconds when she didn't respond to him. "Do you plan on having sex with me." She rested her chin on her knees that were pulled up to her chest. "Why?" He laughed slightly. In a way, he liked watching her struggle to maintain her composure. Jourie loved sex. "Cause I want you to fuck me on the balcony." She smiled softly. --- Jourie had been set up since before she was even thought of. With a mother who owned hair salons, a father who owned auto repair shops, both being scattered all over the map in different locations, and a large family that loves her and vice versa, she had anything a girl could ever wish for and more. She lacked the stereotypical bubbly personality that people assumed came with her and the higher hierarchy status she possessed. Still, she was nothing far from normal.Determined to make her parents proud, jourie always stayed on her best behavior. Straying far away from trouble. Like a record scratching, her life is brought to a halt when jourie has no choice but to face trouble coming for her head on when a new love interest finds a way to creep into her heart. With a strong built family, she learns even the ones who don't share the blood are the closest thing to family you have. So will jourie allow her new and forbidden love interest to shatter the strong built relationship she has with her family, or will her love interest beat her to the catch and do it for her? "You ain't even that cute." Jojo playfully rolled her eyes allowing Dice to pull her arm to wherever he seemed to be leading her. "Where are you taking me!" She grew annoyed with the anticipation. Her dark brown eyes often sparks with mischief, and her full two-toned lips often curves into teasing grins that hints at secrets she rarely shares. Malika excels at a lot of things but she was never the study type. She prayed the night before exams and hoped that her grades would at least give her a passing score and somehow, that always worked. Until now... Her grades are barely holding on- good enough to pass, but not good enough for a sorority like the Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA). She wants to join. No she needs to. It's the only way she can prove to her mother that she's worth it. And she'll do whatever it takes. Even if it means casting her pride aside to get help from the boy who loathes her existence. Meanwhile... Theo Sinclair is a weapon. An academic weapon that nobody can beat. Coming from an old money family where the expectations and bars are set high, Theo surpasses them all and is often pushed towards greatness by his family. Yet he has a big flaw: boredom. Because of his uncaring attitude towards everything and everyone around him, Theo is often alone. Deliberately avoiding attention and validation from peers; he thrives in the silence and rhythm of his own scheduled routines. He has only one rule; 'Never let myself feel things I can't control.' To him, parties are ratchet and vile. An enigma vastly contrasting his reverence for solitude, silence, and carefully ordered thoughts. So when he's pushed into an unwanted arrangement, he resents the intrusion because slowly, his rule...

"Don't touch me" He said through gritted teeth, "I don't know what I'll do if you touch me" My heart dropped. "I don't want to see you like this" I frowned and hesitantly tried to touch his shoulder, but he grabbed my hand tightly but gently. "Fuck it" He murmured as he held my jaw and pressed his lips on mine. (The guy is 22 and the girl is 17 a few months away from 18. If you're bothered by that please don't read it.)

Emery James has spent most of her life loving Wesley Hayes quietly. Best friends since childhood, they've shared late-night pizza, prom slow dances, and one unforgettable night they never talk about. Now twenty-four, Emery's a Brooklyn-based columnist with a carefully curated life and a heart full of unfinished feelings. When a new love interest enters the picture-someone who sees her fully and actually shows up-Emery is forced to confront what she's spent years avoiding: the truth about Wesley, the weight of what they almost were, and what she really wants now. Caught between a boy who's never claimed her, a man who might actually mean it, and the complicated threads of friendship, family, and self-worth, Emery must decide: hold onto the comfort of almost, or risk it all for something real.
