(Completed one shot) When watching the spin the bottle scene in Anne with an e I couldn't help but wish gilbert was in it. Not necessarily for them to kiss but to see how he reacted to the awful things the other students were saying about her. A sudden event cuts the year at Queens short for Anne and Diana as news from Avonlea arrives in a telegram. Gilbert and Anne have not seen each other in over 9 month's and their relationship evolves awkwardly from rival, to friends to romantic. Jerry and Diana's paths cross in an unexpected way which creates tension with so many things now changed. Disclaimer: the characters in this story do not belong to me. Anne and Gilbert have began to converse and meet after school - for educational purposes, of course. Exams were arriving with the spring, and being the smartest pupils in the school, that gave them an advantage. When Anne is arriving at Gilbert's house after school, she's attacked... she injured. She's jailed to bed for weeks, and Gilbert acts as a mighty nurse. Now that they have so much time to bare away, what will reveal itself?

When Gilbert is badly injured saving Anne from an attacker in the woods, Anne feels so guilty that she vows to stay by his side until he is well. It is hard for her to see him now as anything other than a hero, and as those strange feelings of admiration grow, she begins to realize many of those feelings were always there.Ann
