This is the cheerleader George, football player Dream au nobody asked for... Clay "Dream" Collins is your average high school football prodigy, popular and charming. Nearly everyone at school is in love with him, most of which is from his own manipulation. George is a new transfer student that became captain of the cheerleading team. He is an optimistic boy who isn't afraid to dress feminine, and while many respect him for this, many judge him. After one eventful night at a party, Dream and George end up alone in a room, with George claiming he won't ever fall for Dream. Dream makes this his goal to change the male cheerleader's mind. Stars are like candles. When they're lit, they are beautiful and bright, through darkness. And eventually, they are blown out, to reveal light and daybreak that wasn't there before. It repeats over and over again, and I sometimes wonder; we are like stars too. We are here one minute, then gone the next. We are seen in some places, and not seen enough in others. We believe light will guide us through darkness, our enemy. When we unite together, we can create something truly beautiful. And yet, we can be spread apart, alone in the black sky. We have been through what we think are the darkest times, and have always had a light to guide us through. George was my light. My star. Until he too was blown out.

"I promise you. I promise I'll come back." He promises, George thinks wistfully. He promises such a thing- to offer George with his word on something, to uphold it. It's as if he's saying that he'll give the world to him, just for him. But somewhere is the lingering thought in George's mind is that he won't come back. That the cruel war that had riddled their land will take him too, and he will be left wonted and worry worn. George shivers at the thought. "You promise?" That you'll come home to me? And as if he heard those unspoken words. Dream beams at him. "I promise. You won't even notice that I was gone, my love." George releases a wet and broken laugh at the cheesy pet name. Dream does too before pulling him back into his embrace. They stay there for a bit. The war can wait. "I promise I'll be waiting." (or, the war au with letters and oscar wilde quotes.)
