"Great power comes with great..." I raised my eyebrows at Guardian, looking his skin-tight suit up and down. "Urges to wear spandex, apparently." "Are you using altered famous superhero comic book references to insult me?" he asked incredulously. I snorted. "You bet your fucking ass, I am." *** Crown City has all the typical big-city flare. There's a McDonald's on every corner, enough carbon emissions to end life as we know it, and a new supervillain trying to take over right before finals week. For Tessa Kingston, Supers are nothing out of the ordinary. In fact, Tessa likes to pretend that Supers don't even exist at all. Though Tessa isn't exactly shy with her not-so-popular thoughts on Crown City's resident vigilante, Guardian, he seems to have taken a liking to the annoyed teenager. Well, he and his buddies have, that is - buddies meaning two supervillains dressed in Walmart Star Wars masks. Crown City has always been a center for mayhem and superpowers, but when strange things start happening too often to be coincidences, Tessa finds herself in the middle of a fight she didn't start but she sure as hell was going to end. Villains torment her. Heroes try to save her. Tessa just wants to pass Supers 101. In a world full of Supers, it's up to normal-teenager Tessa Kingston to save her city. A typical tagline she's well-aware of, of course. As Tessa prepares to show these Super-fools they messed with the wrong girl, she just has one condition: There's no way she's wearing spandex. *** BOOK #1 OF THE "SUPERHEROES SUCK" DUOLOGY Featured on the Wattpad Adventure, Action, Superhero, and Humour profiles! WARNING: Contains mild swearing, cliffhangers, plot twists, and enough sarcasm to last a lifetime.

**SPINOFF TO SHADOW** Being surrounded by Supers when you're not one yourself is pretty strange, to say the least. For one, they're always running off to save some damsel in distress or rescue a kitten from a tree. That means that I have to share my notes from chemistry class with them when they miss school. For another, they might start talking about things that you can't relate to. "Oh, man. The feeling of a bird crapping on your face while you're flying three hundred miles per hour over the thousand foot skyscrapers? Horrible." Lastly, you kind of get left out of the Super loop. You know, that gossip of the Round Table that's only shared between Supers? Yeah. I'm that outsider. But the difference is that this time, I think I didn't just know a few things that could help the superheroes out. I knew enough to become a spy for them. My name is Cameron Knight, but the rest of the world will know me as Inferno. _________________________ Cameron Knight had a rough childhood, sculpting her into a slightly reckless teenager when she grew up. When she was taken under the cloaks of two superheroes eight and a half years ago, she got used to the fact that her life wasn't normal and it never would be. She was surrounded by Supers wherever she went, between her adopted parents and her best friend. She didn't think her own apartment would fall victim to another Super, or that it would be a villain. "I never wanted to be a superhero. But I guess being a regular old hero every once in a while isn't so bad."
