It is a well-known test among the staff and even some of the fellow citizens aboard Deep Space Nine. Anybody who wishes to be in a runabout -even if with a senior officer- must take an annual succeeding test of command in the holosuite for it to be recorded in the Starfleet database. When it's Julian's day to take the test he is finding it a lot harder than he remembered the last six times he had done it. In his moment of hopelessness, a helpful Cardassian breaks into his program and decides to encourage the success of the doctor with a little game and a friendly bet. Garak plans to use all his mind tricks to help the young doctor succeed. Garak is more in control of Julian's head than even he is and uses it to win a bet and get some feelings off his chest.

After being struck with a purple burst of gas-like energy, Julian Bashir is left deathly sick. As it goes with alien diseases some things start happening to the dear doctor. One of these symptoms is paranoia and delusions making it impossible for anybody to care for him. That is until Garak is called in to try and get the other without getting attacked Garak seems to be the only person at the station able to take care of the doctor due to the disease. Aka a cute tooth-rotting fluffy sick fic with conversations between the two. Garak is very anxious about Julian and wants to help put the other at ease whatever the cost may be.

After Garak's many recent intense moments of claustrophobia he is often left alone with different caretakers until his condition improves. When it's Julien's turn to be on the watch for Garak's escapes he finds himself having to fill in as Garak's counselor. What starts as a game of Garak trying to avoid getting asked more information turns into a mutual understanding of sharing different truths about each other whether be about their culture or moments of their life they are not too keen on sharing. This is my first Gashir fanfiction so a lot getting used to the characters. Some personal cute headcanons throughout along with a very long and cute therapy session with each other. This takes place a little after season 7 episode 5. Please no spoilers beyond that point.

This first story I did for my creative writing class so that's why it's probably gonna be the longest story in this book.
