Jordan Haverford has three names and a target on his head. Suffering from a dead Angel's torture, split between crime and magic, and faced with his worst job yet, the last thing he needs is a blood debt. - The light season has arrived in Nictaven, and with it the city of Shadow's Reach is rebuilding after the ravages of the past season. But the threat of war hangs heavy over the new peace as the High Lord Harkenn recovers from an assassination attempt, and it doesn't look as though the Angels are finished. Despite the tense political atmosphere, Jordan's time with the assassins' guild has only increased, and creeping ever closer is the job its leader has forced on him, the one thing he vowed he'd never do - murder. Add to that the threat of retribution for the Angel he helped kill - and who left him with scars he's not sure he will ever recover from - and the fact that he can't seem to get along with his sister Grace anymore no matter how hard he tries, the light season has not brought him the salvation he had hoped. It's about to get a whole lot worse. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED © S E Harrison/giveitameaning 2022 Cover Photo by Duncan Sanchez on Unsplash

"Under these paths I am made a new. Not as a child of Torlak, but of something greater, greater than any nation. An oath to guard mankind for the divine and the damned. An oath to tame the powers that would seek to manipulate our home. An oath to avenge all who was taken from us." Diana Sol'Louche has always struggled to be what she wants. A great scholar, a hero to her people, or simply a daughter to the two great mages of her home, Torlak. And though she has always made opposition she wanted is to achieve each of these, but while doing so, she is met by fate, who offers her a grand and terrible journey, as a threat looming under her own city and the entire magical world of Torlak. And thus she must take up the mantle of a godslayer and expel this dark threat once and for all. However, they are not the only ones with goals or precautions, as this threat may cast its dark shadows after Theurgy itself.

This is Book Two of The Horns of Elfland. (Book One, The Unknown Quest, is available in full here on Wattpad). The Journey has begun. Winter is coming (apologies to Game of Thrones, but it's just that time of the year!) Tragedy strikes in the Elves' first real contact with a servant of the Evil One as they cross the ford of the great river Afn on Mons Dei, leaving Farinka devastated; it takes many months for her to come back out of her shell. The Elves are "adopted" by a wild child and a wolf pup, Kaaia and Kin, who travel with them to the Western Mountains and the Hidden Valley. The Western dragons take the six senior Elves south to recover Miirshekaar's Blade, but Hlammaeth will not let Nemeth keep it until after they reach adulthood; he tells Nemeth that Tarke has a decision to make first. The time in the Hidden Valley brings to light a wholly new side to Farinka.
