The story is taking place in modern time. It's a highschool AU. All the hashiras are high schoolers making them age from 14-18 while the kamaboko squad are in middle school making them age from 11-13. Gyomei is actually in college and not in highschool. Since gyomei is 27 in the demon slayer timeline, here gyomei would be about 22. But their is demons guarding the mountain at all angles. But with sanemi he has a huge crush on giyu, he later finds out that rengoku and obanai also had a crush on him.
