Nonetheless, he realised it was useless when Yamato showed up to face Shuzo with no memories, as if there was never a childhood they shared. The trauma of unexpectedly leaving each other when they had been just eight years old, and then never contacting one another afterwards, affected them intensely. Their trauma resulted in Shuzo developing clinical depression along with extreme insomnia, and Yamato on the other hand, developed dissociative amnesia leaving him with an alternative past. Knowing of one another's psychological troubles, pain, past and future, Shuzo and Yamato will attempt to know each other once again.
