Newt had heard the stories, knew them like the back of his hand: everybody has a soulmate in this world, one person made just for them, blah, blah, blah. Their initials were inscribed on everybody's chest, just to the left of the sternum, directly over the heart. That he was fine with. The problem for him, personally, lay within the other condition: that if you came within close proximity of your soulmate, but failed to meet them, you would have to relive the day until you succeeded. Which, in theory, seems like a good idea, but that's because most people didn't fuck up this badly.

Newt isn't your average person. He's studying hard to graduate from college but danger always lurks around the corner from him. He has one secret, though, that he doesn't want anyone to find out- he's a witch. Newt's coven is concerned about him. While it's perfectly acceptable to act as a normal person in public, it's against the rules to tell anyone you posses magic. But he's already broken that rule before and it didn't end well for the person he told. Thomas works long hours five days a week to support himself and his four year old daughter Rosanna. He dropped out of college to raise her after his girlfriend left them. Being a first time dad is hard, but doing it alone and balancing work at the same time is a heavy weight on his shoulders. It's been almost a year since they got to the safe haven, but Thomas can't heal. He reads Newt's letter everyday, once in the morning and once in the evening. He can't help but wonder what he could have done differently. But one morning, Thomas and the others are startled to find a small surprise waiting for them on the beach. A surprise that'll push them to go back to the world they so longed to escape from.

For seventeen year old Newt, the number ten is everything. Ten steps. Ten times you must snap your fingers. Ten nods of your head. Ten. When he's put in a mental institution for his extreme OCD, depression and anxiety, he meets some unlikely friends. And possibly the boy he's been looking for his whole life. But can he trust him?
