Step into the darkness; don't be afraid, for you're not alone... for long. * Malevolent laughter fills the air that surrounds you* Run, run, and bring your stories; enter them into the Beyond the Veil Awards. Bring your stories that cross the veil. Wake your vampires and bring your werewolves into the night. Beckon the witches and warlocks alike to join in the chaos of breaking through the veil that separates the living from the dead. Ghouls and Ghosts bring things that bump in the night; an award full of tantalizing frights awaits! Who says scary can't be fun? lol Have a story about a witch who can't get her spells right, or a Ghost who keeps stealing the socks of the person living in their house!? A story of comedy where a werewolf who is raising a cute kitten causes chaos in his pack? Maybe ghouls promoting their own skin care products, but the results weren't expected? What about a romcom between two supernatural beings, one good and one evil? As long as these stories meet the other requirements, you can submit them for consideration. You have a story about a werecreature but not a werewolf, it can enter the category too. Werecat, wererabbit, I know werebunnies are out there lol. As long as they have a sense of scare in them, bring those stories too. Entries are NOW being accepted! Judging begins November 1st. Cover Art By LAJoyner Awards Host: LAJoyner

To keep myself from losing track of: all the 2026 contests I've entered, all the 2026 contests I've volunteered myself as a judge (or let myself be volun-told into judging), all the 2026 books I've had to read as a contestant or as a judge, all the 2026 deadlines, and all the other important stuff, here is a book that registers all these 2026 things in a somewhat organized fashion. With occasional commentary. For the record, I am not Lady Whistledown, and I do not have all the gossip of the ton. Nota bene: Although other people are welcome to browse my public contest logs and look for contests, look for information about details of contests (i.e. you want me to pour you some tea), etc, these contest logs are primarily for my own use. I enter so many contests that I can't keep track of them without a log. I forget important details, too, including things like "Note to self: You do not get along with this contest host, best not participate in their contests." Like my 2024 and 2025 contest logs, this journal was never meant to be an "expose" book. I'm not exposing anybody. Contests are matters of public record, as are any comments made in the contest books. I'm just a ditz who needs a written log to keep track of everything. I would lose my head if it hadn't been attached to my shoulders. I DO NOT CONSENT TO MY POETRY AND PROSE BEING USED TO TRAIN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Since 4th grade, Viktoria Fyodorova has loved writing. How did she get interested in the first place, though, and what keeps her going strong today? Like most writers, Viktoria found the start of her creative journey unexpected, but as the years progressed and she improved her craft, she realized that sometimes the best things come from the unexpected.
