Dua is the act of calling out or supplicating to Allah (swt) .Either asking Allah (swt) for something you need or want . We all need forgiveness ,mercy , love , rizq , jannah, protection from evil and Jahanam . Dua is an act of worship even though it's our own benefit , we also get reward for doing dua . Allah ( swt) says in the quran surah Baqrah 2:186 ( وإذا سألك عبادي عني فاءني قريب اجيب دعوة الداع إذا دعان فليستجيبو لي وليؤمنو بي لعلهم يرشدون) And when My servants ask you , [O Muhammad], concerning me _ indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me , so let them respond to Me [ by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided . The prophet ( peace be upon him) said, الدعاء هو العبادة "Dua ( supplication) is worship ." DUA HAS THE POWER TO CHANGE FATE prophet ( peace be upon him) said , " Dua diverts fate and good deeds lengthen the age ."
