Naruto was skeptical at first but then he realized things aren't always s they seem. He stayed but not long after he found romance and got pregnant with kids. They're not just anyones kids he was pregnant with but Itachi Uchiha's kids. 12 years later Konoha has seeked him out. They want him back but Itachi isn't so willing to let him go back to the place where he was treated like trash. Not with his children anyway.
