after a bad break up, percy runs to his cousin Artemis asking for her help. she helps calm him down, and blesses him, giving him the ability to turn into a wolf, the first wolf of his kind. once done with that, she sends him home to his mother, telling him to find a fresh start, but to keep in contact with her and the hunters. Artemis has already told his mother about the new change, and so when percy gets home, he helps his mother finish packing, and they move to a small town in Washington.
