Orphan Ashalia sleeps with her eyes open, walks with her back to the dormitory walls and never lets the other kids see her fears. In a world powered by greed, every moment could be her last. She also has a secret. An ability so powerful that if the ruling caste knew of what she was capable, they might do to her what they did to her parents. At eighteen-years-old, Ash's recruitment day is approaching and she must face a choice - save her brother from certain death on the streets or risk her own life at the hands of a mysterious stranger with silver-blue eyes, who keeps turning up at the most dangerous and inconvenient moments. This story is for fans of Avatar the Last Airbender. Or those who love a book about hidden magic schools and hate-to-love slow burn romances. *COMPLETE* This novel was originally signed to Harlequin's 'Digital Series First' imprint before it closed and the author's rights were reverted. Ice flooded my veins as the realization of who he was hit me. It must have been evident on my face because the man in front of me let out a dark laugh. "Oh dear, you didn't realize you were talking to a royal, did you darling?" he crooned. Not just any royal. Kesserian Cinis. The recently coronated king and ruler over the Ember Court. I forgot how to breathe, my mind whirring as it tried to figure out how I could have been so stupid as to let this happen. *************************************************** Wren Heatherfield is on the run. Having turned 18, she is now in danger of becoming selected for the Garner, a deadly game in which the six kings who rule over her continent take eighteen non-magical girls and make them fight for their lives. But as she tries to avoid the game by running away with her best friend and her sister, she consequently finds herself doomed to be a competitor in the 246th Garner. But the Garner isn't the only thing capable of killing her. In a castle surrounded by kings with dark powers and girls fighting for their lives, she may find that the politics of royalty can be just as deadly as their games. No one can be trusted in a palace full of monsters and, if Wren has any hopes of survival, she may have to become one herself.

∞ A Wattpad Featured Story on 17 January 2018 ∞ "There are two sides of the same coin." In a dystopian society where people are discriminated by their social status, Adrastea Bones is merely a healer with a knack for inventing antidotes for fatal poisons. When the leader of the rebellion, Rhydderch Thomas, finds out about Adrastea's skill, he persuades her to his cause, despite her originally wanting to stay out of the fray. It doesn't help that Rhydderch is her soulmate due to the words on their skin. Never had she entertained the thought of finding hers, let alone the fact that he didn't seem to mind her being his that much. Journey with Adrastea as she comes to see that it always isn't good and bad and that as ruthless and manipulative Rhydderch can be, perhaps, there was more to him than she originally thought. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * "Just be careful of Rhydderch," he warned. Adrastea looked up at that. "Why?" she paused warily, "Is there a reason why I should be wary of my own soulmate?" He shook his head, "No, but Rhydderch is the type of person who had gone to hell and when he came back, he brought back a piece of it with him." * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * soulmate trope from Tumblr | dark | inspired by the tomione ship

Irene is a known writer. Her published works have always been well-received despite her notable fascination with bittersweet endings. Not just that, she's also a linguist and of course, a wide reader. One fateful night, while she was at an old rodden bookstore she happened to notice a book somewhat glimmering in the bookshelf. Realizing that it was well-written, she took it home, read it without putting it down for two days and eventually found herself in awe with the character of Magnus Baudin Veritas Courtenay who she considered to be a tragic yet well-rounded antagonist. In her mind, before she succumbed to her drowsy sleep-deprived fatigue, Irene unbeknownstly yearned to save this villain from his treacherous path of misery. When she woke up, her eyes widened in shock. What happened? Why is she all of a sudden in a somewhat English mansion, reminiscent of the setting of her recent read? What in the world happened? And what does it have do to her? (A/N: I own the story but not the artworks.)
