Alexandra Williams is a 15 year old that lives with her mother in North Carolina. In 1864, there was a Scarlet fever epidemic going around her village. Both Alexandra and her mother caught it and ended up in the hospital. They were both treated by Carlisle. Her mother died and Alexandra was very close to death. Being lonely and wanting a companion and seeing how she was going to die at such a young age, Carlisle decided to save Alexandra by changing her into a vampire.
