Idros, a wyvern male, just out of his adolescence, finally leaves his family den to set out and make a life for himself, carve his own territory, and perhaps even find a mate of his own. However, beyond those territorial bounds in which he was raised, the world is wild, untamed, and far more dangerous than he could have imagined. Between the dangerous wildlife of his native lands, and the rumours of a human empire set on nothing less than conquering the known world, Idros will have to adapt quickly to the changing world, his own freedom, and the fact that he may not be flying alone for long...
