**AUTHOR'S NOTE: THIS STORY CONTAINS MATURE SUBJECT MATTER THAT SOME READERS MAY FIND DISTURBING. Please read the content warnings for each chapter before reading. Reader discretion is advised.** Adora and her best friend Catra have been working for the notorious Horde gang for as long as they can remember. Picking pockets for a living may not be a great way to grow up, but it's better than living on the streets without protection. But when she's promoted to Force Captain and becomes a full-fledged member of the gang, Adora realizes the Horde is far worse than she ever could have imagined. If she wants to escape this dangerous world of crime, Adora will need to work with a group of vigilantes to bring down the Horde and expose the corruption within Etheria's police force. But when Catra chooses to stay with the gang, Adora must figure out if she can serve the greater good while protecting the people she loves, or risk losing it all. I'm sorry to say but this work has officially been discontinued. My reasoning is that I was a much different person when I started to write this back in 2020. If I were to pick it up again now, 5 years later, I have no idea how I would even go about it. The story plan has long been deleted. ___________________________________________ Even though the war was over, doesn't mean that everything was now a utopia of some sort. Whilst the Queen Of Brightmoon, (Glimmer) is out returning to Brightmoon, Catra is busy trying to fix what she has broken. However, time and time again, she fails to make even a slight change because everyone wouldn't let go of the past. 'Her crimes were too great for her to change.' - They said. Things seem to start beginning to get better for the Half-cat. People see her as a normal person and stop being afraid. But when things drive downhill, Adora's beloved partner is faced with a heavy decision that'll change everything.

Catra is, begrudgingly, a barista. But recently, a certain blonde has been unintentionally shining a light on her uneventful life. [Disclaimer: Obviously these characters aren't mine. We all know the shtick by now.]

"In another life, I would be your girl, We keep all our promises, Be us against the world." ------ What would you do if you found out that the life you thought you were living was all actually in your head? That everything you thought you knew was a lie and that your entire reality was nothing more than a fleeting dream? When Adora wakes up in the Horde and discovers that she had never found She-Ra's sword and had never defected to the rebellion's side, she has to walk the fine line of reality and find out the truth. Is this all an elaborate plot to win back her loyalty to the Horde? Or had she truly made it all up? Either way, things are not what they seem and now it's up to Adora to find the answer to the real question tucked away in the back of her mind: if the world she thought was real still exists somewhere, does she really want to go back? ------ Published: July 29, 2019 Finished: -------

• Catradora • Adora's POV • This story expands upon the She-Ra Netflix series. • Takes place after the events of Season 5. • Cover illustration by @the.r.account and typography by me. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lance and George supplied the stack of blank books as promised, fulfilling their end of the favour - for now. They stand, tall and patient, piled high at one end of the desk. Adora adjusts her dress to a more comfortable position before wiggling in her chair. She supposes she's going to be here for a while. After all, there's a lot to think about... Where to begin? She ponders. At the beginning, she decides. Well, the beginning after the end - the first morning of peace. And after that? An adventure beyond anything she could have imagined. From the long-lost depths to the magical skies of Etheria. With the Horde truly gone, the rebuilding is all but complete. But that wasn't the case back then. Adora smiles at the thought of Catra; she was there that morning, quite unexpectedly. That was before they knew about her magic, before she learnt to control it. Adora takes a final deep breath, truly considering everything they've been through in the last six months since the Heart, since the Resurgence. All their highs and lows, good times and bad. It's all important, and she'll write it all down. With that thought in mind, she reaches for the first of the blank books and, after opening it to the first page, begins to write...
