Macaque and Monkey King have been trying to bond together again by doing an activity together every day. Today they were meditating to restore their energy after an intense training session while the rest of the gang hang out on Flower Fruit Mountain. Until a demon decided to attack the mountain and MK and Mei forcefully woke Macaque and Monkey King from their meditation in desperation...

During a battle, Macaque gets injured, the group does not yet trust Macaque and is still skeptical so they leave the monkey king to watch over him, not only to make sure he is well healed but also so he doesn't run off or do anything destructive. The healing process is slow and painful, it hurts to even use his power. He finds himself unable to even move from his bed some morning. On the verge of death, Sun Wukong is worried for his ex-best friend.
