Ava is a sixteen year old girl whose summer job is one thing. Simple: Take care of her thirteen year old brother Alex. They lost their dad in a fire a little while ago, and their family dynamic has shifted in an unfavorable way. Due to his antisocial lock-myself-in-my-room behavior and her apparent 'attitude', they're sent off to a summer camp. She doesn't mind it, it'll get her away from her mother. Ava and Alex don't expect much besides bad campfire stories and annoying bug bites. They certainly don't expect to be part of an unlikely group of teens, and they, understandably, don't expect the end of the world. But hey, summer is the time for new adventures, right?
