Especially not from the jerk next door. Seventeen-year-old Dani Parker can't be more excited to graduate and get out of the hellhole poor excuse of a town she lives in. With enough family drama to land her a role on a reality TV series, Dani is more than ready to leave everything behind. Her plans to lay low and enjoy the rest of her senior year take a turn when she gets new neighbours. Meet James Hastings. Ridiculously intelligent, brooding, moody, and harbouring his own baggage, the last person he expects to befriend is the obnoxious girl next door. After being forced to spend more time together, Dani tries to make the most of the situation while James wants nothing to do with her. Everything in young Lord Rivien's life is as precise as the sweep of his sword. It has to be: with a dead princess for a mother, an absentee general for a father, and a nursemaid peddling dangerous fairytales to his siblings, precision is the only tool he has to keep his family in order. No matter if it hurts them in the short term. It's the only way to protect them. But when a passionate, poetry-tongued girl invades his dreams and begs him to save her from the monsters hunting her, he'll find himself far from order and even farther from his family. Whatever it takes to get back, he'll do. He'll cast any spell, cut through any monster, spill any blood -- no matter how much that cold determination scares the girl he came to rescue. But if he's not careful, he'll find the most dangerous monsters aren't the ones he can cut through. _______________________ Cover © 2026 Avadel Ink Authorized solely on wattpad.com/avadel Updates Mondays & Fridays

**ONC2026 Round 2 Ambassador Pick** Vincent is having an amazing morning. The most popular guy in the office has given him a high-five, a pretty girl has offered him a coffee, and he's been invited to join the frisbee team. It's almost like they've confused him with someone else. Someone popular. Someone fun. Someone about to bring Vincent's life to a shuddering halt. My entry for ONC2026 based on this writing prompt: 77. Everyone in town remembers you differently, as if everyone has lived a different version of your life. Cover design by @elicatucci

|| ONC 2026 Round 1 Winner || Martin Marvingale lives by two rules: work hard and put others first. So when a baby dragon rips a hole in reality above his freshly planted petunias and the desperate fairytale land inside begs him to step in as their king, he says yes. Turns out, their old king got cursed with zombie-ism, and now a horde of undead nobility are ravaging the countryside. The castle is suffering from a bad bout of slime, the peasants are one more cancelled festival away from revolting, and none of the local lords (who aren't brain-eating monsters) seem to be interested in lifting a finger to help. His only hope at putting things back to rights is to make nice with a princess who hates his face -- and the fact that he might have accidentally just stolen her job. Undeterred, Martin plans to win her over by being the best king anyone could ask for. Which would be a little easier if he knew what a fairytale king was supposed to do exactly. Or how he was supposed to look. Or... anything about his kingdom, really. In retrospect, maybe he should have asked a few more questions before taking the job. ____________________ Cover © 2026 Avadel Ink Authorized solely on wattpad.com/avadel

The town of Dogwood in Cross County, North Carolina is a picturesque seaside community with a sordid past swimming in piracy. Smoking Beard, aka Edward Hollingsworth, was the terror of the colonial coast in the 1600's, and one of Dogwood's founding members, before his descent into illegal privateering and eventual decline into madness. Four hundred years later, Bertha Rodriguez, romance novelist, resides in Dogwood along with her best friend Camilla Goldstien, Dogwood's chief of police. Every year the town capitalizes on its founders' past with a week long festival in June. The Founders' Festival brings much needed tourism and a break from the monotony of living in a small town. This year will be different, a huge storm hits the coast two weeks before the festival begins and someone uses it as an opportunity for murder. With their town cut off from the rest of civilization, it falls to Bertha and Camilla to solve the murder before the weather clears and the villain is able to make an escape. He's Irish Sass in a jersey. She's chaos in sequins. What could possibly go wrong? Galen McKenna has one rule: don't fall in love. Or fall over. Or fall at all, really-he's a hockey player, not a romantic hero. When the Irish wildcard lands a golden ticket to Crystalcrest Ice Hockey Academy, he's determined to finally get his act together, keep his past in the rearview, and definitely avoid screwing things up. Again. His plan? Train hard. Stay focused. No drama. Don't be a melter! Too bad nobody warned him about the glitter tornado on skates living in his new home. Hunter Fairlane lives to skate. She's got a championship to win, a promise to keep, and a skating partner who'd rather sulk than spin. But when Galen crashes-literally-into her life, the last thing she expects is for her heart to start skipping beats. She's skating for love. He's skating for redemption. When attraction sparks between the boy who's afraid to feel and the girl who feels everything, the ice might just melt under their feet. This stand-alone novel, featuring Galen McKenna, is a spin-off from my soapie, Hunting the Fairy Tale. No prior knowledge is required.
